These issues have become a focus of public concern and attracted considerable attention from the scientific community, governments and general public. At the root of these problems is unparalleled human population growth coupled with rapidly accelerating consumption of natural resources. If action isn't taken, future generations will be living in a vastly diminished world. The time to act is now.
