Zoos Victoria has formed a partnership with our sister community in Melako Community Conservancy.  The aims of this partnership are for Zoos Victoria to support the community of Melako Conservancy to live in balance with wildlife, improving the lives of the people through the sutainable use of the environment and long term biodiversity management.

Zoos Victoria supports the administration costs of the community conservancy and works closely with the Melako Scouts to provide security for the community, wildlife and visitors.  We also directly support the women of Melako by selling their beautiful beadwork through our retail outlets, thus creating alternative income streams and reducing the reliance on cattle and pressure on wildlife.
