Healesville Sanctuary has received a generous donation from the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes to support the Australian Wildlife Health Centre's work with bushfire victims.
Funds were raised from the generosity of the Order's members who were concerned about the impact of the bushfires on wildlife, and wanted to support the work of Healesville Sanctuary in the rescue, treatment and rehabilitation of Victoria's native wildlife
Healesville Sanctuary was visited by Alan Gibson, Grand Primo (right), and Mark Stockwell, Grand Secretary of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (left), who presented a cheque for $8,500 to Dr Rupert Baker, Senior Veterinarian at the Australian Wildlife Health Centre.
The funds raised will support the ongoing work of the Australian Wildlife Health Centre after the bushfires, including long term rehabilitation and release of native animals such as Wombats, Sugar Gliders, Koalas and Echidnas.
