Threatened Species staff at Healesville Sanctuary has successfully completed a 819km commitment - to run, swim or walk one kilometre for every threatened species in Australia - and hope to turn the fundraiser into an annual event.

The 17 staff made Threatened Species Day the day they wanted to complete their goal - and to highlight the fact that we are Running out of Time for our threatened species and engaging the community to Fight Extinction together.

The team crossed the finish line at about 10.45am this morning.

Team leaders Jess Thomas and Sarah Thompson want to thank everyone who supported the initiative and encourage people to get involved.
