Endangered Species
Wednesday 29th October: 9.15am – 11.45am
Did you know that one of Victoria's State emblems, the Helmeted Honeyeaters is critically endangered?  Do you know what Mountain Pygmy Possums look like?  Spotted Tree Frogs?  Orange Bellied Parrots?  All these animals are endangered and all are being bred at Healesville Sanctuary to assist with their Recovery Plans.  If you would like to meet and find out more about these endangered Australian treasures, join us in a morning of exploration where the focus is on how your students can take real action to help these animals survive.

Family Frog Night- 'Coranderrk Calling'

When: Saturday 8th November 7pm –9pm
Cost: Adults: $18.50, Children under 16 years: $8.50

Our favourite frog activity for families is on again!
As part of frog week, frog experts will lead an adventure packed night walk and talk into the protected Coranderrk Bushland area adjoining Healesville Sanctuary. Find out about local Victorian frogs and the threats they face and enjoy a spotlight walk looking for and listening to local frogs.


Professional Learning for Teachers: Slimy Science

When: Thursday 15th November: 9.15am – 3pm
Cost: $99.00 includes morning tea.

Full day teacher professional learning day offering an in depth focus on the Science of frogs.  How do frogs absorb water across their skin?  How do they extract oxygen from water?  What happens to the cells inside the tadpole tails during metamorphosis? What do frogs need to survive and how can we help?  Find out the answers to these and many more questions with hands on activities and workshops with frog experts from Healesville Sanctuary.

Teacher Professional Learning: Devils for a Day

When: Friday 5th December: 9.15am – 3pm
Cost: $85.00 includes morning tea
The future survival of the Tasmanian Devil is in doubt as a deadly disease ravages their population. Hear the latest developments from researchers and Sanctuary vets about their collaborative efforts to save this threatened species from the Devil Facial Tumour Disease. Meet some of our little devils and discover how Healesville Sanctuary is involved in the captive breeding of an insurance population. 
Suitable for teachers of Biology, Science and SOSE.
