Melbourne Zoo offers a range of VCE programs aligned with the VCE study designs in Biology and Psychology. With natural settings, up close animal encounters and expert wildlife educators, Melbourne Zoo is an ideal venue for VCE students.

Students will study the behaviour of our Baboon troop and collect quantitative data for analysis back at school. Meerkat behaviour is examined via a qualitative data study and students will get to experience a snake up close while discussing the ethical care of animals in research.
Come and observe a wide range of animals, from Wombat, Snake and Frog through to Baboons and Orang-utans and explore their amazing and varied reproductive strategies. Students will explore the reproductive techniques used at the Zoo for breeding captive animals, particularly endangered species.

Students will explore the answers to these questions by investigating structural, physiological and behavioural adaptations that relate to thermoregulation and water balance in animals such as the Red Panda, Penguin, Wombat and Lizard.
