Biodiversity in your school - Signs of Life

This program is designed to assist schools in their journey in becoming a Sustainable School.

Biodiversity in Your School - Signs of Life covers a range of VELS domains in Levels 4 & 5 with outcomes as diverse as identifying and explaining the relationship between living things, and calculating area and perimeter of irregular shapes.

Once completed, this program allows the school to finalise a number of items of the ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic Biodiversity Module check list.

In this 90-minute session, your students will:

  • get up close with a number of animals
  • practice a wildlife audit at the Zoo
  • pit your skills against a challenging Environmental puzzle
  • check off a number of elements towards your school’s Biodiversity Module
  • see first hand how Melbourne Zoo ensures biodiversity is a priority when creating new habitats both in and around enclosures

After your visit

There are a number of other environmental action programs in which your school can engage.
