Investing in Nesting is an authentic learning experience that requires students to use their design, creativity and technology skills to construct a nestbox for their selected native species.

Students first visit Werribee Open Range Zoo and participate in the Habitats Under Threat learning experience. They then head back to school to develop technology skills that will allow them to take action.

Werribee Open Range Zoo provides expert knowledge when needed, and distributes nestboxes donated by ‘construction’ schools to ‘recipient’ schools whose local wildlife are in need of some shelter. It’s a win-win situation for all, including local wildlife!
