Fighting Extiction

This program provides opportunities for high potential students to access zoo experts, solve problems with like-minded students and engage in real life learning experiences at a challenging level beyond the classroom.

Will your species survive or not? This year is about fighting extinction and ensuring that your species survives despite the threats facing it.

In 2012 students become the founding members of a new conservation organization that has taken on the role of protecting one of the world's most threatened species. The problem is they have to ensure the survival of their own organization before they can protect their species.

The decisions made by their conservation organisations will affect the long-term outcome of their species, and perhaps many other species, so strategic, problem solving and analytical thinking will be required.
