There are 7,000 species of reptiles in the world. While they share many traits with other animals, there are some very distinct differences. Their skin is covered with a sheet of scales, they use external means to regulate their body temperature, and their young look like mini replicas of the adults of the species. The Zoo has a vast range of snakes, including a very large reticulated python, plus lizards, crocodiles, turtles and tortoises. Go behind-the-scenes with the keepers, to learn fascinating facts about our cool reptiles.
