Melbourne Zoo Play Day

Join us for a fun-filled day of children's activities at Melbourne Zoo on Wednesday, 17 August. Zoos Victoria, in partnership with Playgroup Victoria, will host Play Day from 10am until 1pm - a special event offering lots of fun hands-on activities and free giveaways!

After you’ve taken part in all of the Play Day activities, grab a delicious lunch at our various food outlets including the Lakeside Bistro, Zoo Bakery, Meerkat Cafe or Elephant Village Cafe. To keep the kids entertained, make sure you attend some interactive Meet the Keeper talks held at various times throughout the day.

Enter via the rear Rail Gate Entrance at Melbourne Zoo, Elliott Avenue, Parkville. Click here to see a map of the zoo.

Cost:

Children under 4 years are free. Playgroup Victoria members receive 20% discount off full price adult and child tickets. Click here for admission prices.

Parking:

There are 7 accessible parking bays located near the rear Rail Gate entrance which costs $2 for5 hrs.

Transport:

Tram 55 runs from William Street stopping directly outside Melbourne Zoo.

Trains run from Flinders Street Station on the Upfield Line stopping at Melbourne Zoo's own Royal Park Station at the rear entrance.

Access:

All Melbourne Zoo pathways are suitable for wheelchairs and pushers. Wheelchairs are available for free hire (bring photographic identification) and we strongly recommend you phone ahead to book on 03 9285 9300. Pushers are $15 to hire and photographic identification is also required.
