Tickets
Your Twilights ticket provides you with entry to the Zoo from 5.30pm and admits you to the concert area to see the bands in the evening. Concerts commence at 7.00pm.
For the viewing convenience of all patrons, picnic blankets are preferred. To ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone, ticket sales will be limited. So, to avoid disappointment, please pre-purchase your Twilights tickets in advance.

Ticket prices are:

  • Adult $36
  • Concession $28
  • Child (4 to 15 years) $18
  • Children under 4 enter free of charge

Friends of the Zoos discounted tickets:

  • Adult $18
  • Child (4 to 15) $9

How do FOTZ Members pre-purchase Twilights Tickets?
FOTZ Members may purchase tickets at the discounted rate via all the ticket options above. FOTZ members tickets are not transferable and members will need to show their membership card & ID along with their concert ticket on the day of the concert to gain entry.

Twilights Going Green
In 2010 we will also be doing our bit to help the environment. A portion of ticket sales from our twilights concerts will be contributed to making all our twilights concerts carbon neutral.

Other Information for Melbourne Zoo Twilights

Location
Elliot Avenue, Parkville. Concerts at held at Melbourne Zoo's lawn areas. Concerts are situated in the heart of the zoo's beautifully landscaped lawn settings. A perfect concert venue to set-up a picnic and chill out to the summer sounds of our Twilights bands. To make sure that you can attend the concerts of your choice we recommend that you pre-purchase your tickets to avoid disappointment.

Concert Times
Entry for twilight ticket holders is permitted to the Zoo from 5.30pm only. Concerts commence at 7.00pm and conclude at approximately 9:30pm. Where a concert features a support act the main performance will not commence until after 7.30pm.

Wildlife viewing
Most animal precincts will not be open on twilight evenings but there will be an opportunity to view animals in the surrounding concert area until 7pm. These may include the Big Cats, Bears, Lions, Wild Dogs, Reptiles, Giraffes, Zebras and Giant Tortoises.

There will also be a variety of special keeper talks held each evening at specified exhibits.

Not Permitted
Tables, market and beach umbrellas, glass, tents and sunshelters, balloons, party poppers, balls, roller blades, skate boards, whistles are not permitted in the zoo.

Smoke Free
The zoo is a smoke-free zone and smoking in the zoo is not permitted. Pass-Outs are available from gate staff.

Minors
All minors must be accompanied by their parents or a legal guardian. If they are not they can be refused entry and will not receive a refund on their tickets. Proof of ID may be requested.

What To Bring
You can bring your own picnic hamper and drinks (no glass except for wine bottles). For the viewing convenience of all patrons picnic blankets are recommended, all chairs will be positioned at the rear lawn areas to avoid obstructive viewing for other patrons. 

A drop-off Hamper Minding service will operate from the lawn Pavilions 4-6 by the Friends of the Zoo from 5.30pm on concert days.

Melbourne Zoo is and outdoor all weather venue so be prepared and bring appropriate items for all weather conditions.

Food
Tastes of Twilights
You can take advantage of Tastes of Twilights. On offer will be gourmet pizzas, fresh open souvlaki plates and sumptuous curries will headline the fresh food act. In the beverage section, Victorian wines from Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula will star, along with several local beer favourites. Rounding the enticing line-up will be Rainforest Alliance coffee, Schweppes cold beverages and Nestle Peters ice-creams.

This year, the food ticket system introduced last season will continue, where food tickets can be purchased from either of Delaware's outlets. One tickets matches the one standard price of all food items - simply purchase the number of tickets to match your appetite!

Dinner & Concert package
These are available for bookings of two to 50 guests, this VIP offer turns an evening of entertainment into a summertime special occasion, including Valentine's Day.

Pre-ordered Hampers
Avoid the hassles of planning and preparing your food and beverage, and take advantage of Delaware North's delicious Twilight Hamper options.

Parking
Ample parking is available around Melbourne Zoo.

There are also several public transport options. Tram 55 runs from William Street Monday through Sunday. Trains run from Flinders Street Station on the Upfield or Gowrie lines Monday through Sunday, stopping at Melbourne Zoo's own Royal Park Station.

 


TICKET CONDITIONS

Cancellations
The Zoo Twilights raincheck policy is consistent with the normal Zoo regulations of NO RAINCHECKS.

In the event that a performance may need to be cancelled, every effort will be made to communicate this information to visitors, through the media, website, phone, signage at the Zoo entrances and via information from the admissions staff.

Considerations for exceptions to the above policy will apply in the following situations:

The Zoo is closed prior to 7.00pm due to storm damage or for emergency reasons.
Cancellation of advertised performance due to inclement weather prior to the band going on stage, where the visitor may not have received warning of the cancellation, prior to entering the Zoo.

Cancellation of advertised performance for other reasons, prior to the band going on stage, where the visitor may not have received reasonable warning of the cancellation, prior to entering the Zoo.

Viewing
The Twilights event is a general admission picnic-style event and visibility of the stage cannot be guaranteed and may be obstructed, particularly on our busier sell-out evening.

Refunds
We strictly do not offer refunds unless it is in the event that a concert has been cancelled.
