New look Slumber Safari launched today
19 November 2011
Werribee Open Range Zoo's award-winning overnight accommodation experience, Slumber Safari, kicked off its 2011/12 season boasting an exciting new location, new ensuite cabins and new activities today.

The new experience builds on Slumber Safari's strong reputation as one of the leading unique overnight accommodation destinations in Australia.

Werribee Open Range Zoo Director, Sally Lewis, said the new encounter offered an even more amazing adventure with more creature comforts and more family activities.

"We have spent several months rebuilding the entire camp in a spectacular new location overlooking the African Savannah, and we're sure our guests will fall in love with the extra facilities and the incredible views," Ms Lewis said.

"Slumber Safari began in 2002 and has won several tourism excellence awards. We're confident these changes will ensure this wonderful encounter continues to thrive well into the future."

Slumber Safari is an ideal getaway for couples, groups, families or colleagues - an ‘Out of Africa' experience which includes amazing animal encounters, a restaurant dinner, a night walk, campfire fun, breakfast with the gorillas and much more.

The luxurious ensuite cabins have their own purpose-built balcony overlooking the Werribee River and the zoo's large open range savannah where mixed herds of rhinos, giraffe, zebra and antelope roam.
