Meet the new family members

Werribee Open Range Zoo has five new family members we'd like you to meet.

Addax Rami was born on display recently and is the first calf for the breeding season. The healthy young antelope is one of 15 Addax at the zoo. The Addax, also known as the screwhorn antelope, is a critically endangered species of antelope that lives in the Sahara Desert. It is thought there are fewer than 300 left in the wild.

Born soon after was Indian Antelope, Drizzle. The young male is thriving among his herd of 12.

We also have three young camels - Whiz, Saffron and Lucie - who arrived recently following a two-day road trip from Camels Australia in the Northern Territory. They join three resident zoo camels.

You can meet them all on the zoo's Safari Bus Tour or Open Vehicle Adventure.
