Meerkat George has been given a clean bill of health after a vet check to see if his previous dental work was still in tip top shape.

Earlier this year, George had a tooth root abscess and vets decided to remove the tooth.

He recovered extremely well but recently keepers had noticed some skin thickening near his mouth and an occasional nose bubble, so the vets decided to check him out.

The vet check revealed he was in excellent health and the slight changes were a result of some minor scarring which occurred in the healing process.

George has now rejoined his meerkat group, located near Lions on the Edge.
