At just over two months old, Asian Elephant calf Mali would be one of the youngest individuals ever to have a book written about her!

Mali: My Baby Book now available at the Melbourne Zoo Shops!

Herald Sun senior journalist Cheryl Critchley has been following Mali's story since well before Melbourne Zoo's first-ever calf was born, and she has covered all the significant events in Mali's life since then.

Cheryl has put together a fact-filled but fun story to delight families who have enjoyed coming to see Mali already, and those who will be coming to visit her soon.   Wonderful photos by talented Herald Sun photographers including David Caird and Jay Town document Mali's life so far, showing her strong bond with mother Dokkoon.

The very first photos of Mali were taken the night she was born by Trail of the Elephants Keepers Mark Keenan and Erin Ballagh, and those intimate shots of baby's first steps in the Elephant Barn show the excitement and delight of everyone present at her historic birth.   The 48-page colour publication will be an ideal souvenir for everyone who has enjoyed Mali's story so far.   At only $14.95, the book will be fantastic value.
