Wanted: a devil of a name

 David Caird Sunday Herald Sun.

Introducing Healesville Sanctuary’s newest arrival, a gorgeous little Tasmanian Devil joey.

Thanks to the Sunday Herald Sun and Healesville Sanctuary,  you can help name this little cutie.

In honouring the indigenous people whose lands encompass the area where Healesville Sanctuary is today, Keepers have selected three Woiwurrung (traditional Wurrundjeri language) names for you to choose from:

  • Mulana, pronounced “MOO-la-na” which is Woiwurrung (traditional Wurrundjeri language) for spirit.
  • Dakara, pronounced “DAR-kar-a,” is Woiwurrung for tough.
  • Dhala, pronounced “TAR-la,” is Woiwurrung for night.

Complete the form below to vote for your favourite name and go into the draw to win a behind-the-scenes tour, for two adults and children, of Healesville Sanctuary’s Tasmanian Devil breeding facility and be one of the first to meet the little joey. The competition opens 12.01am, Sunday 28 July and closes midnight, Sunday 4 August 2013. See full terms and conditions here.
