Hot, wet and wild
Hot, Wet and Wild allows VCE students to consider structural, physiological and behavioural adaptations to ensure homeostasis with regard to animals’ thermoregulations and osmoregulation.
Through group investigation and close examination of our Zoo animals, students will explore how animals adapt, thrive and survive in challenging and ever changing environments.
This program can be used to meet the requirements of the school-assessed coursework (SAC) and addresses the area of study and outcomes in:
- VCE Biology Unit 2: Organisms and their environment (Area of Study 1: Adaptations of organisms)
Zoos Victoria Education aligns with best practice teaching and learning strategies for VCE Biology and has a strong focus on collaborative learning and developing inquiry skills.
Our educational experiences cater for students of all learning needs.

You can help protect local species simply by switching to recycled toilet paper. Do you have a guilt-free bum?
The sturdy and mostly solitary wombat is native to Australia and is the largest burrowing herbivorous mammal in the world. You can help us fight extinction by adopting the wombat.
Your donation helps us fight extinction and care for our animals.
