Aussie creature features

What makes our Australian wildlife so unique?

We live on an island continent where our animals have evolved in remarkable ways. In this flexible session you can choose a focus: investigate the features and body coverings of different animals, their special habitats, or amazing life cycles.

Students develop a deeper connection with wildlife when given the opportunity to feel the cool skin of a frog or stroke a kangaroo’s soft fur. For bold explorers’ there is the chance to learn about Australia’s distinct landscapes, and which animals choose to call the creeks, the forests and the deserts their home. Students might even share their own personal encounter with animals that grew up in a pouch, or hatched from eggs.
