Friends of the Zoos

Friends of the Zoos is the voluntary support group of Victoria's three great zoos – Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary.

Friends of the Zoos aim to:

• Encourage public interest in and understanding of wildlife, the need for its conservation, and environmental factors relating to its survival, by supporting the work of the Zoological Parks and Gardens Board (ZPGB), its properties (zoos) and projects
• Assist the ZPGB financially and in other ways that benefit Zoos and wildlife generally
• Provide its members with information, facilities and privileges to enable them to gain a better understanding of wildlife and the aims and achievements of the ZPGB
• Co-operate with organisations that have objectives similar to or consistent with those of the society
• Do any other lawful things that are incidental or conducive to attaining the above objects or which are intended to advance directly the interest of the Society

Cork Recycling Project

Friends of the Zoos began collecting corks in October 1998 to help raise funds towards The Trail of the Elephants Exhibit. The campaign has been an outstanding success. Find out more about the Cork Recycling Project.
