Super heroes answer the call

Healesville Sanctuary hosted its inaugural Zoos Victoria member party last weekend. It was a great day out with performances by DirtGirl and Hoot and Hootabelle, face painting for all the kids and plenty of games and activities.

Rocky

Rocky lives another day

On Saturday an orphaned Swamp Wallaby joey was brought to Healesville Sanctuary’s Australian Wildlife Health Centre. After an initial check and X-rays, our vet team found the little guy had a fractured leg that would need surgery.

Arthur feed time

Arthur the injured koala

Two weeks ago, a koala named Arthur was brought to Healesville Sanctuary’s Australian Wildlife Health Centre after being hit by a car. Arthur had a broken leg and arm, and was unable to move around by himself.

Today Buffy the Chocolate-wattled Bat came to the Australian Wildlife Health Centre at Healesville Sanctuary after being found in a cat's mouth. She was very dehydrated and had mutliple wounds from the cat on her body and her wing membrane.

The Australian Wildlife Health Centre at Healesville Sanctuary received an odd case yesterday. A woman came to the hospital after hearing movement sounds coming from her car engine the night before.

Norton and his very own Wildlife Hero

Norton, a Short-beaked Echidna, came into the Australian Wildlife Health Centre (AWHC) at Healesville Sanctuary in mid-March. He was found wandering around near the road and was rescued by a member of the public.
