Wine & Wildlife
Over the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend (6 – 8 June), Healesville Sanctuary is teaming up with Yarra Valley icons to create amazing wildlife experiences with gourmet treats.
From 11am to 4pm, visitors can cosy up to roaring fires and enjoy warming wines from De Bortoli Winery and Nolan Wines, sip mulled cider by Napoleone & Co, and indulge in cheese and Kennedy & Wilson chocolate tastings. Then wander through the Sanctuary to come close up to wildlife in a beautiful bush setting.
Sample a hearty winter menu from the Sanctuary Harvest Café, created just for the Wine and Wildlife long weekend. Plus, playing every day from 12-3 will be singer-songwriter Rhys Crimmin, filling the room with his infectious blend of accoustic instruments including guitar, didgeridoos, harmonicas, kazoo, and foot percussion!
The little ones haven’t been forgotten either! A winter wonderland awaits with faux snow play and animal interactions around every corner, as the Sanctuary Keepers bring their furry, scaly and feathered friends over to say “hello”. And don’t forget to take a seat for Spirits of the Sky or the Tales from Platypus Creek show.
Open fires, local wines, mulled cider, tastings and a delicious roast lunch; it will feel like Christmas this winter at Healesville Sanctuary. Throw on your gumboots and a warm coat and head on in!
And remember … Kids under 16 years receive free entry all Queen’s Birthday weekend!
