Amazing new cheetah exhibit opens at Werribee Open Range Zoo
Be the first to see the new-look cheetah exhibit at Werribee Open Range Zoo these school holidays.
The new exhibit is double in size and has been extensively modified to give it a greater ‘open range' feel with extended views to adjoining zoo grasslands where animals including oryx and camel roam freely. Project Leader, Peter Sullivan, said the new exhibit provided greater enrichment for cheetah brothers, Kaidi and Inkosana.
For the younger kids, there's an exciting new Discovery Trail. Children can become ‘habitat detectives' as they embark on an amazing journey around the zoo. Using special clues, young super sleuths will find answers to questions about endangered animals and their habitats.Visit the African Village and learn about different types of native animal habitats including frogs and orb weaver spider webs! Learn how to make nesting boxes and write on our Graffiti Board with your suggestions on how to save animal habitats. There'll also be plenty of giveaways!

Keeper for a Day
Do you want to work with animals? Find out what it takes to work in a zoo at Werribee Open Range Zoo these school holidays.
Go behind the scenes and take part in the daily duties of a zoo keeper; food preparation, animal enrichment, health checks and animal handling.
You will also go on a private safari tour with a difference and have the opportunity to speak with keepers about their amazing jobs and experiences!

Are you a Superhero for Wildlife?
Our colourful parrots have a special message for you these school holidays. Visit the Parrots ‘Wipe for Wildlife' Show everyday at 1.30pm and our Galahs Pip and Georgess will show you how one decision at the supermarket can make a world of difference to our wildlife friends. There'll be giveaways and a visit from our resident wildlife superhero Crapman - he'll be making random appearances looking out for kids who'll join him in the wildlife crusade. (Note: Crapman is on Wednesday to Sunday only. The Parrot Show is on everyday!)
