Otana shares birthday treats

Western Lowland Gorilla Otana turned 14 today, and he generously shared his birthday treats with his mate Kimya.

The pair are expecting their first offspring any time from February 20, the beginning of a four-week window when the baby is most likely to be born.

New Zealand Fur Seal Finds New Home

New Zealand Fur Seal Iha has found a new home at Melbourne Zoo’s Wild Sea.

This morning she made her public debut, with Keeper Beth guiding her through a brief introductory training session in the pool.

Iha is now a healthy adult, but she had a tough start in life.
