Bristol Zoo in England has succeeded in beginning a breeding program for the critically endangered Lord Howe Island Stick Insects, or Phasmids.

In November Melbourne Zoo sent 300 eggs hatched here to Bristol Zoo, and of those 300 eggs, 212 hatched out.

Melbourne Zoo is sad to announce the death of Pygmy Hippopotamus Petre.

At age 32, Petre was considered to be an old individual.

Wild Seas Manager Marcia Salverson says that ‘Anything past 20 is regarded as old for this species.
