We are committed to ensuring we provide an accessible environment for all our visitors at Melbourne Zoo. We achieve this in a variety of ways.

10% discount for holder of a Carer Card NOT accompanying a person with a disability

There are six accessible parking bays near the main entrance of Melbourne Zoo. Seven accessible parking bays are located near the Rail Gate entrance.
There is a bus drop-off point at the main gate and all-day bus parking on the northern side of the Zoo (except school and public holidays, where it is open to all vehicles).
Melbourne Zoo has an easy-to-follow pathway system, with access for people using wheelchairs and pushers.

We recommend you book in advance. Tel: (03) 9285 9300

Assistance animals that are certified by a registered authority are welcome at Melbourne Zoo.
However, for the safety of your animal and our animals, assistance animals are not permitted in off-limits areas, including the Australian Bush walk-through area.
If visitors would like to attend these experiences, they can be escorted by a staff member or volunteer guide. Assistance animals will be cared for during their visit to these experiences.
Our admissions staff can help with these issues and any queries, just ask when you arrive. If needed, our staff can also look after your assistance animal.
If you are mobility-impaired, we have Guide Mobile tours available from our friendly volunteer guides.
The Guide Mobile is an electric vehicle that carries up to three passengers at a time. It travels at walking pace, so those unable to ride can join the tour on foot. As this is a volunteer-led service, Guide Mobile tours are subject to the availability of volunteers.
Please note there are safety limitations on when and where the guide mobile can travel through the Zoo grounds. On days of high visitation the Guide Mobile will have restricted running times.
The tour runs for approximately one and a half hours.
For tours on the day please check availability at the Melbourne Zoo Memberships, Sales and Encounters office located at the front gate, or at the Information Office, located at the Rail Gate.
Zoos Victoria is committed to enhancing accessibility across all our properties. This is why we have developed an accessibility action plan.
If you have a particular access requirement or would like further information on accessibility at Melbourne Zoo, we invite you to contact us. Tel: (03) 9285 9300. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
