The Lakeside Bistro offers indoor dining with a scrumptious, seasonal menu for breakfast or lunch. So escape the winter chill with a house special soup and a Zoo bakery roll or grab a gourmet salad or sandwich over summer.
Our family friendly menu includes also includes handmade burgers with fat chips, club sandwiches and rolls, and healthy salads and aromatic curries. The kids will enjoy a Zooperman meal or one of our universal favourites such as fish and chips with a garden salad.
And there is a range of desserts designed to tempt small stomachs (and large ones).
All meals are freshly made, using local produce whenever possible – including breads and pastries from the Zoo’s in-house bakery and herbs picked from our own garden. If you’re after something to drink, we have coffee, hot chocolate, a range of carefully picked wines and beers, and more.

No other Zoo in Australia has a bakery on site! The Zoo Bakery offers gourmet pies, sausage rolls, pasties, pizzas, sandwiches and baguettes, all perfect lunch options. Watch the bakers at work through the window and take in the wonderful smell of freshly baked bread. We have an irresistible range of baked goods on offer to satisfy your appetite.
Why not get the kids’ Zooperman lunch pack that combines a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a fresh juice and a Zoo-baked gingerbread?
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, there are muffins, fairy cakes, cookies and other treats to take away. Also available are hot or cold drinks, ice creams and snacks.
And don't forget to get a freshly baked loaf of bread on your way home.

If you want to grab a quick, on-budget bite, the Plaza Kiosk is perfect.
There’s fish and chips, burgers, chicken nuggets as well as sandwiches, sushi and salads. Ice creams, cold drinks and snacks are also available.
Sit at a table outside the Plaza, or find a spot on the lawns and enjoy the natural surrounds of the Zoo.

Meerkat Manor Cafe stands just inside the Zoo entrance, overlooking the playful meerkats.
It’s a great spot to start your visit, whether you’re enjoying your first coffee of the day, or recharging your batteries over lunch.
There’s a range of pies and pastries from the Zoo Bakery, as well as salads, sandwiches and sweet treats.
You can also pick up hot and cold drinks, ice-creams and snacks.

Wander along the twisting trail of the elephants through bamboo forests and Asian village scenes to arrive at the Village Kiosk.
The menu takes its inspiration from its surrounds, serving up the authentic tastes of South East Asia.From stir-fries and curries to Asian snack foods, the food is freshly cooked and packed with flavour. Choose from spring rolls, curry, fried rice and daily specials.
There’s also an assortment of snacks, salads, ice-creams and hot and cold drinks.
The Mek Kapah Terrace provides outdoor seating – and an ideal setting to enjoy a meal or drink before (or after) viewing the nearby elephants.

Any time of day is a perfect time to sit and overlook the giraffes and zebras from this unique location.
Open for your morning coffee or breakfast, fruit salads and yoghurts are available.
Come back for a BBQ inspired lunch serving sausages and kranksys mild or chilli with onions, cheese, sauerkraut and mustard. Hot chips, sandwiches and grilled specials for vegetarians and gluten free are also available.
Then come back to enjoy the perfect afternoon sunset over a snack, cool drink or ice cream.
