Be a Bug Explorer
Explorers get ready! This spring, bring the kids to Melbourne Zoo for the chance to discover a world of bugs like no other.
Start your journey by trekking the bug trail on a self-guided tour around the zoo. You will visit a number of bug species along the way and learn all about the amazing ways they escape being eaten!
The hero of the trail and one of our priority native threatened species, the Lord Howe Island Stick Insect, has a new-look exhibit to visit!
At the exhibit you’ll also discover the differences between adults and juveniles, and find out how the Zoo has been so successful to date in helping save this species from extinction.
By completing the trail you’ll also have the chance to enter to win a Bug Explorers pack (ask at Admissions for additional details or at the Lord Howe Island Stick Insect exhibit).
Our bug theme doesn’t stop at the trail … Our indoor play space, Keeper Kids, will be catching the bug-mania with presenters hosting bug story-time and a bug hunt daily for the little ones. You’ll need to arrive early for this one with story-time running at 10am daily!
Don’t forget, kids are free every weekend and public holidays!
