One of Australia’s premier singer-songwriters, Josh Pyke, will play Zoo Twilights this summer! With multiple ARIAs, APRAs, gold records, and four top 10 debuts, he is no stranger to recognition. Known for his ability to weave intelligent lyrics with warm melodies and quirky song structures, Josh Pyke is a modern-day storyteller, whose unique and evocative use of both words and music places him in a league of his own. Throughout his momentous career, Josh has received four ARIA Awards - with a further nine nominations - and has had nine songs appear in triple j’s Hottest 100 countdowns. Josh’s breakthrough single was 'Middle of the Hill', which made it to #19 on triple j’s 2005 Hottest 100. Showing no signs of slowing down any time soon, his fifth album But For All These Shrinking Hearts (2015) debuted at #2 on the ARIA chart, making it his highest debut placement and fifth top-10 release in a row.
Winterbourne blend their distinctively strong melodies and harmonies with electric and acoustic guitars to give their tunes an alt rock style with a 60s rock-pop feel and influence. Their debut EP All But The Sun (2014) has sold well over 17,000 copies and this year they’ll join Josh Pyke for his Zoo Twilight show.
Josh Pyke will play Zoo Twilights in support of Zoos Victoria and their fight to save the Eastern Barred Bandicoot from extinction.
