New at Keeper Kids
Hey kids, get to work and discover the new Works play space at Keeper Kids!
In Melbourne Zoo’s newest indoor play-based experience, you can put on a safety vest and tool belt and learn the tools of the trades that are used every day by Keepers, Veterinarians, Horticulturists, Researchers and Works crew.
Designed for children aged 3 to 8 years and their families, this interactive experience enables kids to imagine what it’s like to work at the Zoo by dressing up and taking on staff roles.
In the new Works area, kids can try their hand at plumbing, carpentry and zoo design.
- What could you build to help transport animals?
- Where in the Zoo would you create a new meerkat exhibit?
- If there was an emergency at the Zoo, what would you do?
These are just some of the challenges the Works crew face every day and will be the challenges kids face as they join the Works crew at Keeper Kids.
Keep on the look-out for real Zoo staff who will visit Keeper Kids regularly and hear from them what it’s really like to care for a lion, operate on a monkey, build an exhibit for a gibbon or research endangered animals like the Philippine Crocodiles.
Be amongst the first to experience this new indoor play space, and don’t forget to say hello to our new Keeper Kids Presenters who are on hand to guide kids and their families through the Keeper Kids adventure. And see if you can spot our cheeky Squirrel Monkeys!
There’s so much to see and do at Keeper Kids, one visit just won’t be enough! And, luckily kids are free every weekend, Victorian Government school holidays and public holidays!
General admission fees apply. Kids are free all Victorian Government school holidays
