Do you want to work with animals? Healesville Sanctuary presents an engaging day of activity for all aspiring zoo keepers.

The Keeper for a Day program allows you to go behind the scenes and participate in tasks which could include:

  • Food preparation
  • Animal enrichment

  • Enclosure maintenance
  • Egg sorting

  • Browse collection and change

  • Keeper talks

  • Animal health checks
  • Animal handling

The day also includes a comprehensive tour of ‘off limits areas' and the ‘Spirits of the Sky' presentation. Throughout the day you will be able to talk to other zoo keepers about their amazing jobs and experiences!

So, if you're looking for something really cool to do these school holidays, there are limited places available on: 

  • Wednesday 13 April

  • Thursday 14 April

  • Tuesday 19 April

  • Wednesday 20 April

Keeper for a Day runs from 9.30am to 3.30pm. The program is suited for children aged 13-18. 

The cost the program is $102 which includes morning tea.
BYO lunch, appropriate footwear and a sense of adventure!
