Healesville Sanctuary has admitted 70 patients in the past three weeks, heralding the start of a busy spring.  And this little wombat is just one of many orphaned animals Keeper Amie Hindson and staff are caring for around the clock.

Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat joey Jedda is now permanently out of mother Jumanji’s pouch and on view in the Wombat Tunnel at Melbourne Zoo’s Australia Bush.

Keepers weighed her today, and she has reached a healthy 3.6 kg, still small compared to Jumanji’s 27.9 kg.

Southern White Rhinoceros calf, Kipenzi has reached a major milestone in joining the rhino herd at Werribee Open Range Zoo.

Hand-raised from birth, fifteen month old Kipenzi has been introduced to the Zoo’s female rhinos, including mum Sisi and grandmother Make.

Like a Penguin to Water

The first Penguin chick of the season was successfully promoted from the Penguin feeding school to the big pool at Wild Sea this morning.

It didn’t take long for the chick to step out of the ‘pet pack’  carry box when it arrived at Wild Sea.
