Bush Babies

14 September 2011

Dates: Saturday September 24 to Sunday November 6, 2011

Activity times: 11:00am - 4:00pm daily

Our wildlife hospital is a Baby Burrow this spring. Bring your little devils to meet ours on a play date to remember! Meet the nursery team taking care of wombat feeds, devil play sessions and bath-time for ducklings. With daily Baby Talks covering all aspects of care, you'll see that looking after our babies is just like looking after yours. Come and share some precious baby time with us—they grow up so quickly!

  • Baby talks: Talks, feeds and play sessions 11am to 4pm daily
  • ‘How to' sessions: From baby bird rescues and emergency roadside pouch checks
  • Shelter Sundays: Wildlife carers and their babies visit (Sundays; September 25, October 2 and 9)
  • Babies on board: Look out for Baby on Board signs for other Sanctuary spring babies.

Bush Babies, is a celebration of new lives—precious Aussie wildlife babies that are in need of special care. In the Baby Burrow, you'll get to see the workings of our hospital nursery and to share in the stories of the many injured, orphaned babies and hand-raised babies.

Who you'll meet will depend on who needs rescuing, or a new surrogate mum, or maybe just some tender loving care.

This year two very precious little baby wombat girls have been rescued and have settled in with their surrogate mums. Plus we have two very special little devil sisters, a big part of Healesville Sanctuary's conservation story, who you will have a chance to see for the very first time.

So, with spring in your step, come along, bring your babies to meet our babies and the very special people who care for them.

The Baby Burrow will be open every day from 11am to 4pm from Saturday 24 September 2011. Baby viewing, feeding and general care experiences will be scheduled throughout the day, around the needs of our babies and their daily care.

Kids are free every weekend and all through school holidays so come and visit us for a playdate!
