The Vervet Monkeys are swinging from the treetops over their extensive new home renovations.
The zoo's 18 monkeys now have more floor space, more swinging space and much more foliage to play in, following a recent exhibit upgrade.
The clever new design utilises more of the available ground space and, through the use of creative contouring and horticultural techniques, the exhibit now blends seamlessly with the neighbouring gorilla exhibit.
For those concerned that the gorillas might look a bit too close to the monkeys for comfort, rest assured, there is a large dry moat separating the two exhibits.
Swing by and meet our playful primates soon!
Together we can improve animal care, reduce threatening processes and save endangered species.
The word ‘hippopotamus’ is Greek for ‘river horse’ and their closest relatives are whales and dolphins. You can help us fight extinction by adopting the hippopotamus.
