Congratulations to Healesville Sanctuary Koalas Prickles and Benni on the arrival of their new joey!

Now here's your chance to name their baby.

Come along to Healesville Sanctuary and you can enter this special competition to pick a name for this gorgeous joey. We don't know yet if the joey is a boy or a girl, so pick one boy's name and one girl's name from the list of indigenous names below. Remember you need to visit the Sanctuary to enter.

Boy’s names:

Birri (‘boy’ or ‘white box tree’)

Yulli (‘go up’)

Djirang (‘leaf’, the‘d’ is silent)

Steve (popular boy’s name)

Girl’s names:

Melli (short for Melliodora, a type of eucalypt tree)

Kalari (‘daughter’)

Alinta (‘flame’)

Joa (‘friendship’)

Winners will receive free entry and a Koala Magic Moment for a family of four.

The names with the most votes by Sunday 13 October will be notified and the winning name published on our website and Zoos Victoria Facebook page.
