Zoos Victoria welcomes the passing of the Amended Truth in Labelling - Palm Oil Bill through the Australian Senate. This follows last week's tabling of the Senate Community Affairs Committee's rejection of mandatory labelling.

Zoos Victoria's CEO Jenny Gray said it was great that the voices of more than 163,000 Australians had been heard in Canberra and that their calls for mandatory labelling had been heeded by many of the nation's politicians.

"The number on issue here is consumer choice and it is fantastic to see that this issue is being taken seriously at a national level," Ms Gray said.

The prospect of mandatory labelling is now firmly in the hands of the nation's politicians. If you would like to continue having your voice heard on this important issue then you can write to your Federal politicians or even your favourite food manufacturer and let them know how you feel about palm oil labelling.
