The time has come to crack open the certified sustainable chocolate and congratulate all companies associated with Zoos Victoria’s Zoopermarket for making public time-bound commitments to use 100% Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO).

This year, Goodman Fielder, Peters Ice Cream, Snack Brands Australia and Lindt & Sprungli have made clearer their commitment to source more sustainable palm oil, moving them into the Zoopermarket’s orange category.

The Zoopermarket officially switched on its scanners at Melbourne Zoo in April 2013 as part of the second phase of its Don’t Palm Us Off campaign and in that time, over 17,000 people have spoken up for CSPO and clear palm oil labelling both onsite and online.

Through the help of the Zoopermarket and the commitment of major manufactures such as Goodman Fielder, Peters Ice Cream, Snack Brands Australia and Lindt & Sprungli, Australia has stepped closer to a future where the only palm oil being used is no longer produced at the expense of wildlife.

The Zoopermarket will continue to evolve and Zoos Victoria is in the process of adding new companies to the red, orange and green categories.

Zoos Victoria would like to thank everyone who has supported the Don’t Palm Us Off campaign and to acknowledge the companies involved on joining the ranks of companies moving their supply chains to more sustainable supplies of palm oil.
