One of the largest gorilla exhibits in the world swings into action

Werribee Open Range Zoo's spectacular new gorilla exhibit, Gorillas Calling, was officially opened to the public today. The $3.6 million exhibit is the new home for three Western Lowland Gorillas silverback Motaba and his two sons, Yakini and Ganyeka.

A young male giraffe from Auckland Zoo has arrived safely into Melbourne overnight, following a four-day voyage across the Tasman.


Eighteen month old Jelani is now settling into his new home at Werribee Open Range Zoo.

Resource for Zimbabwe

Students create resources for schools in Zimbabwe

Werribee Open Range Zoo was visited by Year 7 and 8 students from local school, MacKillop Catholic Regional College. The students learnt all about animal poaching and decided to participate in our action program Conservation Connections – Zimbabwe.
