Zoos Victoria is

We are a not-for-profit conservation organisation dedicated to fighting wildlife extinction. We do this through breeding and recovery programs for threatened species and by working with visitors and supporters to reduce threats facing endangered wildlife.

Youth at the Zoo Conservation Conference

On the 9th of July I had the privilege of co-coordinating the Students for Conservation Conference at Melbourne Zoo. This day was planned and organised by Youth at the Zoo members with the aim to inspire and help students fight extinction back at their schools.

Our keepers have been diligently watching gorilla mum to be Kimya around the clock. They also do regular health checks in the dens and it was here that they successfully tried using ultrasound to hear the unborn baby's heartbeat
