Victorian Curriculum F – 10
Science Inquiry Skills
Children will become a Wild Explorer for the day, learning about what makes animals special and meeting many along the way.
Our Wild Explorers learn to respect and care for animals in this fun-filled and educational day out at the zoo. Students engage all their senses and exercise their enquiring minds to learn what makes animals special and uncover animal's features, habitats, life cycles and what they need to survive.
Wild Explorers hear a story from our zoo-based teachers, have the chance to meet an animal up close and explore the zoo to discover what makes our animals so special. Guided discussions, animal encounters and inquiry learning help students understand where these animals live, what they eat and how we can care for them and their habitats.
By the end of their mission into the wild, students will understand how special our animals are, how to care for them, the environment and contribute to a sustainable future.
