A bequest is a personal gift of great importance and a lasting legacy to your beliefs and values.
Many Australians hold a life-long love for the zoo - a place that represents their earliest memories of animals, and a place they have visited repeatedly and enjoyed throughout their lives.
At Zoos Victoria we are privileged to be realising the final wishes of countless Australians who have cared deeply for wildlife, who have held a sentimental appreciation for ‘their zoo', and who named our organisation as a beneficiary in their Will.
Bequeathing a gift to Zoos Victoria – no matter what size – ensures that we continue to provide our animals with the highest quality of care and offer our visitors a quality experience that becomes a memory for life.
Your gift will also support the conservation efforts that Zoos Victoria undertakes in Australia and overseas to protect the natural habitats of threatened species.
Please read information for making your Will.
Several times each year, we receive notification of gifts that have been left to the Zoo from someone that we have never met. While we are always incredibly appreciative and grateful for this gift, we’re also saddened by the fact that we did not know about these people’s intentions, or their interest in wildlife and the Zoo, during their lifetime.
If you intend to leave a gift to Zoos Victoria in your Will, please consider advising us, so that we are able to keep you informed of events, activities and our plans for the future. Let us acknowledge your intentions and your love for wildlife during your lifetime, so that when you go, you know where your support will go.
Your advice will always be treated with the utmost respect for your privacy.
We are happy to assist in supplying memorial envelopes and appropriate wording should you wish to receive donations in lieu of flowers at the time of a loved one's passing.
