Celebrate Christmas in July at Melbourne Zoo

Melbourne Zoo's Lakeside Cafe is putting on a special Christmas in July themed three-course lunch on weekdays of 19 - 23 and 26 - 30 July.

Choose from one of two sittings and enjoy a delightful warm hearty Christmas lunch amongst the wildlife during your day at the Zoo.


  • New season winter vegetable soup served with freshly baked roll & butter

  • Roast turkey with sage & thyme gravy served with roasted winter vegetables, green beans & cranberry sauce

  • Plum pudding, crème anglaise and cinnamon dust

  • Glass of wine/sparkling/juice/soft/hot beverage

Beverages including barista-made coffee available for additional purchase on the day (card payment only).

If you have a special dietary request, please mention them at the time of booking to ensure we can organise appropriate catering. Children aged 2-8 will receive a smaller plate.

There is ample pram parking available at the zoo and high chairs available at Lakeside Cafe.

Terms & Conditions

Bookings are non-refundable & non-transferable.  Menu is based on seasonal produce and could change. All guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This is a licenced event. Alcoholic beverages may only be consumed by adults aged 18 and over. Suitable proof of age identification (license, passport, key card) will be required. Clients will be held responsible for ensuring that their guests behave and consume alcohol in a responsible manner and that guests under the age of 18 years old do not consume alcohol. RA (Restaurant Associates) reserves the right to request proof of identification before serving alcoholic beverages to guests. RA reserves the right to refuse the supply of alcohol to patrons who appear intoxicated. RA reserves the right to ask intoxicated and/or disorderly patrons to vacate the premises at any time. No refunds will be made for guests that are refused service or asked to vacate the premises because of intoxication or disorderly behaviour.
