Student conference

The theme for Science Week 2020 is ‘Deep Blue: innovations for the future of our oceans’. By focusing on this theme, the Women in STEM conference will help Year 9-10 students think about STEM in their schooling and their future.

With a range of activities and guest speakers, this conference will enable students to:

  • Connect with female STEM role models who are caring for our oceans
  • Discover real-world case studies of women working in STEM
  • Explore the role of STEM in the future of work
  • Reflect on how personal interests and skills can be translated to STEM study and careers

This student conference links to Victorian Curriculum Levels 7-10: Design and Technologies, Science, Personal and Social Capability and Sustainability cross-curriculum priority. Students will walk away from this conference inspired and keen to explore their place in STEM.

Each school is welcome to bring up to 15 students. Tickets are limited so get in quick.

Women in STEM is a collaboration by Zoos Victoria, St Aloysius College and girledworld
