Melbourne Zoo's annual 'Women in STEM' conference inspires Year 9-10 students to think about STEM in their schooling and their future. The theme for Science Week 2020 is ‘Deep Blue’ and your students will connect with women who are using their skills and knowledge to innovate for our oceans.

This year, you have two conference dates to choose from - Thursday 13 or Friday 14 August.

With a range of activities and guest speakers, your students will:

  • Meet female STEM role models
  • Hear real-world case studies of women working in STEM
  • Explore the role of STEM in the future of work
  • Reflect on how their interests and skills can be translated to STEM study and careers

Students will walk away from this conference inspired and keen to explore their place in STEM.

This student conference links to Victorian Curriculum Levels 7-10: Design and Technologies, Science, Personal and Social Capability and Sustainability cross-curriculum priority.

Each school is welcome to bring up to 15 students. Tickets are limited so get in quick.

Women in STEM is brought to you by Zoos Victoria, St Aloysius College and girledworld.
