In this love letter to growing up in Los Angeles, director Paul Thomas Anderson captures the platonic, goofy affection between teenage Hollywood hustler Gary Valentine (Cooper Hoffman, son of Phillip Seymour) and wide-eyed Alana Kane (played by Haim sister Alana) against the backdrop of the San Fernando Valley in 1973. Also starring Sean Penn, Bradley Cooper and Tom Waits as Hollywood types the two friends encounter in their attempts to break into showbiz, 'Licorice Pizza' is the latest time capsule of LA from the director of 'Boogie Nights', 'Magnolia' and 'Punch-Drunk Love'.

Stars: Alana Haim, Cooper Hoffman, Sean Penn

Director: Paul Thomas Anderson

Year: 2021

Running time: 2hr 13min
