City of Melbourne (CoM) annually acknowledges NAIDOC Week through its public programs, activities and events that facilitate opportunities for people to come together and learn, understand and value Australia’s Aboriginal heritage and cultures, and work together to address Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander disadvantage.

Melbourne Zoo is proud to host one of this years City of Melbourne NAIDOC Week events on Sunday 14th July.

Activities

Welcome to country with Colin Hunter Jr Jr

Location: Nature Play, in Australian Bush

Time: 10am - 10:30am

Story telling and cultural games

Location: Nature Play, in Australian Bush

Time: 10:30am - 11:30am and 1pm - 2pm

Indigenous face painting, colouring in and music by Madi Walker

Location: M Pavilion, in Carousel Park

Time: 10am - 3pm

Bush bouquets and Aboriginal necklace making with Yarn Strong Sista

Location: M Pavilion, in Carousel Park

Time: 11am - 2pm
