Something's happening behind the doors of the Lisbon family's house, and the neighbourhood boys are obsessed with finding out what it is. In her 1999 directorial debut, Sofia Coppola and a cast led by Kirsten Dunst, Josh Hartnett and Kathleen Turner bring to life Jeffrey Eugenides's book about the beautiful, enigmatic and ultimately doomed girls in the Detroit suburbs. With a score composed by French duo Air and a dreamy visual style, 'The Virgin Suicides' has inspired a generation of artists and set the scene for future Coppola x Dunst collaborations in the years since. Go back to where it all began.
