Zoos Members have the opportunity to attend an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Healesville Sanctuary, Melbourne Zoo and Werribee Open Range Zoo.
This member-only Discovery Tour will take you off the beaten track to explore, learn and discover some special behind-the-scenes secrets of your zoos.
The guided walking tour will take approximately 45 minutes and afterwards you’ll be free to explore the zoo at your leisure!
It’s a little bit of history, a little bit of mystery and it’s completely free and exclusive for Zoos Victoria Members!
Please note prams and strollers cannot be taken into the off-limits areas.

You sure do, we will only be revealing our secrets to Zoos Victoria Members. All attendees must be active members of Zoos Victoria.
The Members' Discovery Tour is a guided walking tour of the behind the scenes areas at Healesville Sanctuary, Melbourne Zoo and Werribee Open Range Zoo.
Please wear your most comfortable walking shoes for this tour as there will be unmade dirt and gravel paths in some areas.
Feel free to bring a water bottle on the tour, but please no other food or drink.
All registered members will meet at the main entrances of Melbourne Zoo (Elliot Avenue), Healesville Sanctuary and Werribee Open Range Zoo. Your tour guide will be waiting for you at the members' entrance.
No, the tour will focus on welcoming members to the property ensuring Zoo Members become familiar with the zoo and its history.
The tour is an all weather event, so please dress accordingly for all weather conditions.
Unfortunately no, all attendees registered must be at the Melbourne Zoo entrance at 8am to depart at 8.15am, Healesville Sanctuary entrance at 10.15am for 10.30am start and Werribee Open Range Zoo at 8.35 to depart at 8.45am. Once the tour departs no access will be available for attendees into the zoo until it opens to the public at 9am.
All children must be supervised at all times and a maximum of two children to one adult will strictly be enforced.
