A maze n’ Opening

28 March 2018

Werribee Open Range Zoo opened its new A Maze n’ Cat Maze today as part of Zoos Victoria’s campaign aimed at protecting wildlife and keeping cats happy and healthy.

Launched in February, Safe Cat, Safe Wildlife is a joint campaign between Zoos Victoria and RSPCA Victoria to provide owners with advice and support about keeping their cat within their home environment, which is better for both cats and local wildlife.

With school holidays just around the corner, the new maze at Werribee Open Range Zoo transports people into the wonderful world of our feline friends, taking them on a journey where they can choose to take risks, or to stay happy and safe at home.

There is also the opportunity for visitors to create their own toys for their cats to enjoy at home from everyday materials including cardboard rolls and egg cartons.

Visitors are encouraged to join the Safe Cat, Safe Wildlife community where they will be provided with expert articles, a blog and simple, low-cost ideas to create a fun and safe space at home for their cats.

For further information about the Zoos Victoria and RSPCA Victoria Safe Cat, Safe Wildlife campaign, please visit safecat.org.au or visit Werribee Open Range Zoo during the school holidays to explore the maze and experience the new campaign for yourself.
