Our Australian Fur Seals are getting ready for Clean Up Australia Day this Sunday, 3 March and have volunteered their services to help the cause. Every year poorly discarded plastic and fishing waste kills up to 1 million sea birds, 100,000 sea mammals and countless fish. That’s why our seals have chosen Seal the Loop, as part of their Clean Up Australia efforts.

Last year an estimated 590,000 people volunteered to help clean up Australia and its beaches. With your help, we can make this year even bigger. Find out more about how you can volunteer at

Sunday also marks the beginning of Sea Week, a week dedicated to increasing the understanding and appreciation of the ocean and its inhabitants. So if you find yourself out fishing this weekend, please remember to safely discard fishing line in one of the Seal the Loop bins and help save those most at risk like our Australian Fur Seals.

For those sticking to dry land, see you at one of the many Clean Up Australia events this Sunday!
