Conservation grants unveiled

18 July 2013

Zoos Victoria has unveiled a grants program to support conservation projects outside Australia, to help build on our long-standing international conservation partnerships.

We work with many communities locally and globally to help them protect and save wildlife by implementing sustainable practices to achieve long-term conservation outcomes. We've seen success in the Melako Community Conservancy, in Kenya, protecting endangered wildlife such as the Grevy's Zebra through community-led projects which help to alleviate pressure on local wildlife and through the funding of scouts in protected areas.

The theme for the 2013-14 round of Zoos Victoria’s Grants for International Conservation is ‘Wildlife Conservation through Community Engagement’ with a focus on meaningful benefits to wildlife and people.

Applications are open from 1 August to 31 October 2013. Find application details at International Conservation Grants program.
